REDBOURNE HOUSE - RANGE OF NEEDS
At Redbourne House we specialise in the following service user group: Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Aspergers Syndrome, Autism and mild to moderate challenging behaviour.
At Redbourne House we work to have a good relationships with the local GP's, dentists, opticians, chiropodist, district nurses and consultants at Primary Care Trust Bassett's Centre. Who specialise with adults with learning disabilities?
Each service user attends local church of their religious choice. We are in prime areas for educational centres use the facilities for Bromley and Lewisham where the service users are able to tap into sports activities, sex education, maths, English, IT computer skills and attend the summer school.
Here at Redbourne House we are proactive and support the service users towards independence training, cooking, menu planning, shopping, domestic chores, laundry, ironing and understanding money.
Staff teams at Redbourne House organise and help celebrate the service user's birthdays with their family and friends. We sit with each service user and plan their annual holiday of choice and its destination, once a year. Each service user takes part in their monthly meetings where their views are discussed and action points are met.
During half term with the service users and staff plan and discuss outings to seaside resorts, museums, concerts and other attraction of interest. Each service user is supported to keep in contact with their families and friends by telephone and letter writing. Each service user is encouraged to bring with them their choice of furniture, decor and personal items to represent their taste of recognition and pride to their room.
Each service user will be given the opportunity to have a telephone line as long as the service user of family funds the agreement for payment. Or, the service user will be encouraged to purchase their mobile phones "pay as you go"
